Welcome Winter

Not yet!  It is only just starting to remember it is meant to be summer!  However, that is the name of the challenge I am entering with this card!

And here is the sentiment:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Shelly's Images - Welcome Winter
 http://shellysimagesblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/ttt-winner-and-december-challenge.html
Brown Sugar - Winter
 http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-74-winter.html

This wasn't my first choice of image for this card - but some of the links aren't working.  This was the only winter one I could get to download.  However, I'm glad that happened as I actually really enjoyed working with this lovely bear.

The paper is from a paper pad by MME.  The image and sentiment are from Shelly's Images.  I don't think they were actually designed to go together but I always find beauty in a snow scene (maybe because we don't actually get any snow where I live and I always see it on beautiful postcards and such!). The snowflake is a die-cut from Memory Box which I embellished with a large gemstone.  Colouring is with copic markers BG15, RV10, E02, E000, C2 plus Stickles - Star Dust.

New DT post

This is my first post as part of the new DT at Crafty Hazelnut's Monthly Christmas Challenge.  This challenge is an Anything Christmas challenge - as long as it is a card.  What I really love is being organised for Christmas throughout the year so it is not a last minute rush!

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #84
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/pick-of-year.html
CHNC Weekly Challenge - Starting All Over Again
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-157-starting-all-over.html
Digi Haven - Red or Green (both)
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/tis-colors-of-season-red-and-green.html
The Outlawz Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/saturdayscarpbookingchallenge/forum/topics/paper-a-la-mode-december-28-january-3-anything-goes

I have used a paper from a matstack by DCWV called "The Christmas Combo Matstack".  I saw this wen I was shopping for something else and liked that it was a lighter weight paper - far better for posting!  I have bordered the papers with silver Peel-Off border stickers.  The image is Winters Fairy from Bugaboo Stamps.  I have coloured her using copic markers E00, R17, R14, R02, R05, G17, YG17, YG11, Y06.

Happy New Year

A nice cheerful New Years card which I wasn't actually going to enter into the Trimgym challenge as it is due to close soon and I still wasn't sure whether I wanted to add anything else to the card.  While I was deliberating on that, the winners post came out for the CRAFT Challenge before the end of the challenge ......... so I have hurriedly uploaded it so that it is at least in one current challenge!  I'll see if I can find any others too!

I am entering this into the following challenges:
CRAFT Challenge - New Beginnings
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/challenge-239-26th-of-december-new.html
Trimgym - New Year
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/december-challenge-last-one-for-2013.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Anything Goes
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-204-anything-goes.html
Craft Your Passion - Something New
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-194-something-new.html

I have used a freebie paper from Trimgym for the background which I accented a little with stickles on the larger stars.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps, coloured with copic markers and accented with Stickles - Star Dust.  I also have added three large clear rhinestone stars.

Wolfie New Year

I made this and another card for the CRAFT Challenge.  I was still deciding whether to add anything more to the other one as the challenge still had 20 hours left to run.  Then I saw the winners post come out before the close of the challenge.  I decided I would upload them anyway even though they don't even have a chance of winning!!!

I am entering the cards into the following challenges:
CRAFT Challenge - New Beginnings
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/challenge-239-26th-of-december-new.html
Trimgym - New Year
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/december-challenge-last-one-for-2013.html
The Outlawz Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/birthdaycard/forum/topics/anything-goes
Chocolate Coffee and Cards Challenge - New Beginnings
http://chocolatecoffeecards.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-55-new-beginings.html

I used a paper from Trimgym which I have had for some time.  The image is from Doodle Dragon Studios and the sentiment is from Desert Diva.  The sentiment just worked so nicely on the snowball!!

I added some white mesh ribbon and a string of rhinestones and pearls.  A bit of Stickles to accent the hat and snow.

Traditional Christmas Card

Every year, I never seem to have enough of the more traditional Christmas cards.  I'm starting earlier on making those ones this year:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Milk Coffee - Christmas
http://milkcoffeechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/any-christmas-creation-challenge.html
CHNC - Starting All Over Again
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-157-starting-all-over.html

I have used a paper from a matstack called Safari which I think suits this image.  The image is from Milk Coffee and the sentiment is from Desert Diva.  Colouring is with copic markers plus the addition of Distress Marker for faux stitching.  I added some ribbon from American Crafts.

Typical Teenager

This reminds me of my son at the moment.  I have to almost drag him outside to get some fresh air - middle of summer and he is in his room playing on his Nintendo!!!  I crashed out before it got to midnight but I suspect this is how he looked at midnight:

I discovered from comments while I was away from home that somehow the picture had disappeared.  I have re-inserted it into the post and hopefully it will stay there this time!!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Trimgym - New Year
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/december-challenge-last-one-for-2013.html
CRAFT Challenge - New Year
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/challenge-239-26th-of-december-new.html
LEJ Designs - Anything Goes
http://lejdesignschallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/lej-designs-challenge-no-84-anything.html
Craft Your Passion - Something New
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-194-something-new.html

The paper that I have used is a recent freebie from Trimgym.  I kind of like the symbolism in this - the clock ticking away in the background while the teenager is completely unaware of the time.  It is what inspired me to pair the paper and image.  The image is from LEJ Designs and coloured with copic markers B45, E00, R17, R14, YR23, C2, E25.  The sentiment is from Delicious Doodles.  I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the image, added some random faux stitching and then some striped washi tape.

Summery New Year's wishes

Here in New Zealand, we are currently mid-summer (not that you would know it most of the time!!).   The start of the New Year is with the sun shining brightly - hopefully the start of some better weather and a chance to get to the beach!!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Sassy Studio Designs - New Year
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/dtbst-209-ring-in-new-year.html
CRAFT Challenge - New Year
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/challenge-239-26th-of-december-new.html
Trimgym - New Year
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/december-challenge-last-one-for-2013.html
Craft Your Passion - Something New
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-194-something-new.html

I have used a recent freebie paper from Trimgym for this card.  Love the bright cheerful colours.  The sentiment is from Delicious Doodles.  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs.  The colouring is done with copic markers E00, YR23, E18, E15, R17, R14 and faux stitching with Distress Marker - Mustard Seed.  I added some lace from my stash and used a Spellbinder Scallop Circle die for the image.

One Layer

Something a bit different for me......working entirely on one layer:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Dilly Beans - Christmas or Winter
http://www.dillybeanschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/new-challenge-christmas-or-winter.html
The Outlawz Thursday Challenge - Single Layer Card
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/prismaandothermediums/forum/topics/twisted-thursday-dec-26th-jan-1st-anything-goes-optional-twist

I have edged the card with Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass.  I die-cut a couple of snowflakes using a Spellbinder die and used these as masks on the base layer and stippled some Distress Ink - Old Paper around them.  Once the masks were removed I had this lovely snowflake effect.  The image is from Dilly Beans and coloured with copic markers with a very light layer of Stickles - Star Dust.

Piles of Presents

These could be presents for any occasion so I've left off a sentiment till an appropriate occasion comes along:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Annabelle Stamps - Colour Combo
http://annabellestamps.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/ac174-colour-challenge.html
Papertake Weekly - Sketch #81
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/pick-of-year.html
The Outlawz Sunday Challenge - Anything Goes
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/sundayscleanandsimplecas/forum/topics/cas-challenge-december-29-2013

I am having so much fun playing with these sketches again!  These colours from Annabelles are fun too:

I have used a paper from a paper pad by DCWV called Christmas Combo.  The blue one is a left over piece from another card.  I used some glittery Christmassy mesh ribbon.  The image is from Annabelle Stamps and coloured with copic markers YR02, B05, R59, G82.  I raised the image up using some mount tape for a bit more dimension.

Simple.  Bright.  Cheerful.  Fun.

Red and Green

A bit of an overdose of red and green:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Sami Stamps - Red and/or Green (I've used both!)
http://samistamp.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/sami-stamps-challenge-008-and-new.html
Digi Haven - Red and Green
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/tis-colors-of-season-red-and-green.html
CHNC - Starting All Over Again
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-157-starting-all-over.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-extra-for-december.html

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft for the background as well as some wide red mesh ribbon.  The image is from Sami Stamps and I added a sentiment from Digi Doodles to it.  The colouring is with copic markers with Stickles - Pink over the top of the ribbon.  Not quite sure why this colour is called pink as it looks more like burgundy to me!  Anyway, back to the card - I have also added three red glitter domes.

Of course I hung my stockings

....they needed the air!  Don't you just love this Stella quote!

and after an elegant looking front of the card - here is the quote on the inside:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 238
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/down-memory-lane-and-sweet-good-bye.html
ABC Christmas Challenge - Z is for Zany

CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-extra-for-december.html

I used some papers from a paper pad that came free with a cardmaking magazine.  The circle and the oval are the front and reverse of the same paper.  I matted using some gold cardstock.  I also used gold Peel-Craft border stickers and some gold ribbon to keep the gold theme running through the card.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured with copic markers and then glitzed up with Stickles - Star Dust.  I added three white pearls on some of the dots on the oval shape.

Here is the sketch that I worked from:

Anneke Candy Cane

This is one of the progressive challenges that I joined in during 2013.  As long as you use the monthly image, you get e-mailed the image for the next month.  I have had some truly delightful images throughout the year and have enjoyed the challenge of creating with them.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
From The Heart Stamps - Progressive Challenge
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2013/12/04/december-stamps-of-the-month-candy-cane-anneke-or-for-the-birds/
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #84
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/pick-of-year.html
CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-extra-for-december.html
CHNC - Starting All Over Again!
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-157-starting-all-over.html

The challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge is to use any past challenge.  Because of my love of sketches, I knew that I would want to work from a sketch.  I suspect that I will use some of the other sketches from the past year too!

I have used a paper from a Christmas paper pad.  The image is from From The Heart Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers E00, R17, R14, E35, E33, RV23 plus has the addition of Stickles - Star Dust and Glossy Accents.

I used two different mesh ribbons - pink and a wider red.  The Happy Holidays ribbon is from American Crafts.  Matting is some burgundy cardstock.

Tissue Time

With the changeable weather we are having at the moment there are a few people around with the sniffles (even though it is meant to be the middle of summer!!).

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Flat Friends - Blue, Green and Pink
http://flatfriendschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/challenge-15-colour-combo-x.html
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #83
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/pick-of-year.html
Sentimental Sundays - Various past challenges (#149 - Get Well)
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/challenge-187-pick-from-our-favorite.html

Another sketch!  I love working with sketches so even though I can choose any past challenge on Papertake Weekly Challenge I seem to be opting for the sketches.  Great excuse to use these sketches again!!!

I wouldn't normally work with a combination of blue, green and pink so it has been fun working with these colours.  I might go blue and green or blue and pink but not with the third colour.  I'm quite pleased with how that combination has turned out.

I used a background paper from MME and then some offcuts from other cards for the smaller pieces.  I think the pink one may be a digital paper, the green is from Rosies Studio and the blue is the reverse of the main piece.  I added a ribbon from American Crafts.  The image is from Flat Friends and is a bit representative of how I am feeling at the moment - mainly hayfever but still a nuisance!

Peeking out of the Stocking

I've had this one coloured up for a little while but just couldn't seem to get the inspiration to create a card so it is kind of last minute:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Stockings
http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/december-challenge.html
Just Some Lines - Christmas or Winter
http://justsomelinesblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/december-challenge-christmas-or-winter.html

CHNC - Starting All Over Again
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/chnc-challenge-157-starting-all-over.html
Digi Haven - Red and Green
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/tis-colors-of-season-red-and-green.html

I have used a paper from Rosies Studio for this card.  The image is from Just Some Lines and is coloured with copic markers.  When I was on holiday back in October I bought some glittery Christmassy mesh ribbon and then couldn't find where I put it.  I found it yesterday when I was looking for something else and knew it would go well with this card.  I also added some Stickles - Star Dust to the tops of three of the stockings on the backing paper for a bit more interest.

Gingerbread Man

I had a choice of a gingerbread man or a gingerbread woman for the progressive challenge at Imagine That.  However, as soon as I saw this gingerbread man, I knew I had the perfect DP to go with him:

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Imagine That - Progressive Challenge

Just Inspirational Challenge - Wrapping Paper (see below)
http://justinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/team-b-paper-crafting-world-wrapping.html
I am having difficulty getting through by e-mail to the prize co-ordinator.  If any of the DT from Just Inspirational Challenge are reading this and can give me an alternative e-mail address I would appreciate it as the win goes back to November (Kraft Paper challenge). Thanks.

I got a bit stuck with the layout of this card until I came across the "Any past challenge" at Papertake Weekly Challenge and found this sketch would work well.

I have used a DP from Kaisercraft plus some recycled wrapping paper!  Unfortunately, the wrapping paper reflected quite a bit when I took the photograph.

I have made a set of three tags this time so my tag collection gets a good start!  I have used three different images from Floppy Latte.  The cardstock backings are all offcuts from other projects.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I have added washi tape to match the cord that I used for each tag.

I rotated the sketch from The Outlawz Challenge to suit my image.  When I looked at the sketch, those stars made me think of New Years so that was the kick-start my mojo needed!

I have used a paper from a paper pad.  The image is Dress Up Kitty from Digi Darla which I coloured with copic markers E35, E33, E31, YR31, YR02, RV10, G82, BG15 plus faux stitching using Distress Marker - Scattered Straw.  The ticket is from Create with TLC.    I have added some Stickles - Gold to the points of the stars.

This is the first time that I have entered the Show It Off Party at Create with TLC.  Mainly so that I can show a creation with something from Create with TLC!

Golden Christmas

This image was a freebie on The Paper Shelter for 24 hours.  Although it was almost Christmas when I snagged it, I didn't want to wait to colour it up.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Happy New Year

A Happy New Year card - probably what I needed to send out this year as my Christmas cards were so late getting in the post that they won't arrive until the New Year!!

I am entering my New Year card into the following challenges:
The Outlawz Friday Challenge - New Year
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/copicchallenge/forum/topics/alcohol-markers-challenge-december-20th-26th

I have used a paper from a paper pad by DCWV.  The image is from Anne's Cards 4 U and coloured with copic markers YR31, E00, Y28, E57, E53 with the addition of Stickles - Gold.  The tickets are from Create with TLC.  The originals were coloured but my printer is running out of ink and only printing in black at the moment so I added some Y28 over the top to give them a lift.

I used two different embossing folders for this card and then added some white grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.  The image is from Delicious Doodles.  I left the image uncoloured and applied Stickles - Star Dust everywhere.  I am really thrilled with the effect.

Let It Snow Penguin

I've gone with a Black and White colour scheme for this card as I thought it suited this little penguin.

Happy Birthday Kitty

This image could easily have been for a Christmas card with the stocking but having made a lot of Christmas cards recently, I decided to opt for a Birthday Card!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
A Day For Daisies - Add some gingham (washi tape)
http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.co.nz/2013/12/take-two-sketchpad-snowmen-and.html

I have used a paper from MME.  I added gingham washi tape in the shape of banners.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and the sentiment is from Netty's Cards.

Happy Birthday

I don't usually do bright cards but I have this paper so I decided I would use it.  I'm actually fairly happy with the end result - good to go outside the comfort zone sometimes!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
